I swear, I pretty much exclusively wore Sting t-shirts for the majority of my teen years. I am glad a picture finally surfaced on the interwebs of me wearing one (and a red, yellow, and green wooden bead choker).

I wonder who kissed who….because there must’ve been a reason for me to look so pissed. And that was almost always the reason.

I was totally freaked out by the idea of physical contact (unless it was for trust falls or something) but I would still get so angry and jealous when my friends would have someone to get all smoochy with.

I didn’t kiss anyone until the year after this pic was taken. When I was 18, in college. And even then it was just once and he was some big drug dealer in Harvard Square. He had no legs. He carried a meat cleaver under his wheelchair cushion. It was another year before the next time. I was 19. Other side of the country. Me and some dude were making out. He took off his shirt. He had the Rolling Stones lips and tongue tattooed on his chest. I freaked out, jumped out the window (first floor), and ran.

I was a late bloomer, to say the least.

Sure did love Sting though.

And I would totally rock Jody’s pants right now.

My posse was crazy and amazing.

I wish you could tell better in this pic that I had Milli Vanilli/Lisa Bonet hair past my butt.

I loved Milli Vanilli and Lisa Bonet.

And did I mention that I loved Sting?

I like LOVE LOVED Sting.

Like wrote poems about him loved him.

SHUGO TOKUMARU トクマルシューゴ- Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen

Amazing gig and such a friendly atmosphere　(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧　!! More than in France for once. Because English audiences are less warm than French audiences in general but yesterday, woowww, lovely atmosphere!

Before the concert started, they played an album I listened a few days before and I was really upset because I couldn’t remember the name of the band. Then I saw the girl in front of me using whatever smartphone application to get the name of the song and I could see the artwork cover on her phone but still couldn’t remember the name ARG　ಥ‿ಥ　. Luckily I have a Grooveshark account that reminds me what I listened (it was Youth Lagoon’s the Year Of Hibernation).

Klak Tik was cool! They had a viola (just for one song though) and it made me miss my violin once again　(╥_╥) 。Some nice Beirut-like vibes with a trompet as well.

Shugo Tokumaru was awesome and I was amazed by his drummer’s skills omg, the guy went mental! Seeing him live made me realise how many crazy rhythm changes there are in his music, I didn’t really pay attention to it before (because I’m a melodic person rather than a rhythm one). I had a dumb reflex that was to try to compare his music with a european/western band I’d know and all I came up with was something in between Psapp and a cuter version of Animal Collective. I don’t know why one always have to compare bands with each other, that’s annoying, I’m annoying myself. But it’s sometimes useful when a friend asks “what’s his music like” you can say other band names instead of “uh-pop…folk…indie?” (but what if they don’t know Animal Collective or Psapp — you sound silly and say uhpopfolkindiewtvrs). But most of the time people don’t really care, they just ask to be polite. Ok. Rant over.

The accordeonist was brillant as well (made me miss playing accordeon as well fffffuck what I am doing with my life I miss playing music so much), and she played a lot of other cool and cute instruments or toys ｡◕ ‿ ◕｡. I took a picture of her playing with a puppet doll which played the drum with my disposable, I hope it’ll be good.

I didn’t realised Shugo was such a good guitarist as well(◕‿◕✿). They moved on effortlessly and really fast from song to song and it seemed like he didn’t even sweat… No eyecontact as well with the crowd (yeah 1 or 2 thank you and a sudden heybtw “My name is Shugo Tokumaru” in the middle of the gig - oh really?(─‿‿─) )no small talk, just music, GOOD music!!!

Oooh and they played a very sweet cover of Video Kill the Radiostar, ukulele version (｡♥‿♥｡). Everybody sang! I was surprised because some people knew the japanese lyrics of a few songs. I think there were some Japanese people in the crowd but I’m not sure they were the one singing!

I bought myself a t-shirt and enjoyed my way home in the rain and wind because (◡‿◡✿).
